Confused by compact wording
Hi. I was only there for a short moment, and what stood out first was not one section but the way many page elements were packed together. There were navigation items for videos, categories, tags, live cams, stories, and a dictionary, plus several language links nearby. I noticed porno tube in that same general wording area and paused because it blended with all the other short labels. Further down, the page had many category and tag names, along with signs that entries are updated often. The strange part was that nothing looked hard to understand separately, but together it felt slightly too dense. Has anyone else ever reacted more to the amount of labels than to the actual page topic?

Yes, that makes sense to me. When a page has many functional words close together, attention can treat them almost like a single block instead of separate navigation items. Categories, tags, language versions, random options, and account links can create that effect very quickly. A phrase in the middle may feel more noticeable only because it interrupts the pattern for a second. I have had that happen with dense menus on different kinds of sites. Usually the feeling fades once the eyes stop trying to process everything at once.
